Online delivery, work experience and mentorship to beat teacher shortage

As there are severe teacher shortages predicted, the situation around teacher training needs a reset and a new model might include a combination of online delivery, work experience and close mentoring for aspiring teachers.
   From January 2022 Christian Education Ministries (CEM) and Alphacrucis College will kick off its teacher training program that will get students in classrooms from very early on in their course. Read more

Australian teacher in running for $US1 million Global Teacher Prize

Rebecca West, Deputy Principal Instructional Leader at Bonnyrigg Public School in NSW is a bit of an over achiever.
   A 2021 Commonwealth Bank Teaching Award recipient, West had already been named as one of the Top 50 finalists out of more than 8,000 nominations from 121 countries this year for the Global teacher Prize. She has now been confirmed as a top 10 finalist.

COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Testing for everyone at school

Firbank Grammar School will provide rapid Covid-19 testing and will shortly be offering on-site booster vaccination doses.
   Starting on Thursday, October 14, 2021, all people who enter the Senior School site will be tested twice a week (Mondays and Thursdays).  Testing will be administered by qualified medical personnel from TLC Healthcare and supervised by the school's medical staff.  All tests will be provided free of charge.
