Be flexible with young children's reading
Reading to kids helps with their literacy, that isn’t controversial, but giving students some input works even better.
   “Children can be really creative in the ways they deconstruct texts. Rather than just asking questions that check that kids have understood what has been read to them, teachers can develop the outcomes from reading aloud by allowing for creative and innovative responses,” said Dr Jessica Mantei who has published recently on the subject. Read more

Better services and more homes needed to support aspirations of indigenous young
It’s tough being a young indigenous person, they face severe challenges in most aspects of life and are still generally less happy and secure than their non-indigenous counterparts.

1740 students average 10% writing improvement with Seven Steps
Pre- and post-implementation testing by Seven Steps to Writing Success has revealed an average 10% improvement in writing results after 10 weeks use of the writing program.
   The Making Real Change in Schools Report aggregated data from over 1740 students who were given a writing test before they were taught the Seven Steps, and then again 10 weeks later, after the Seven Steps had been implemented. Read more

Australian experts deliver school leadership program to USA
In a pretty strong endorsement for the quality of Australian teaching Australia’s National Excellence in School Leadership Initiative (NESLI) has been chosen to develop and deliver a ground-breaking national teacher leadership program across the United States.
    Decision makers from the United States’ key school leadership organisation, the School Superintendent’s Association met with the NESLI team to discuss how to bolster school and system leadership. Read more

Aussie company to help put 3D Tech into over 200 United Arab Emirates Primary Schools
The United Arab Emirates, Ministry of Education (MoE) has announced a country-wide rollout of 3D technology into over 200 primary schools to begin in early 2019 and Australian company Makers Empire is key.
   Dubai-based education consultancy company, Ibtikar, will partner with Makers Empire to deliver a program implementing 3D design and printing to over 200 grade seven classes in 2019. Read more
