Rural Teaching Staff Boosted

Hundreds of Australian Catholic University (ACU) pre-service teachers have headed into regional, rural, and remote areas nationally to complete their teaching placements this year.
  It’s hoped that the experience will inspire these student teachers to return to a rural setting after completing their degrees to boost the teaching workforce outside of the metro areas.

Tassie Christian Schools to Train Their Own Teachers

Ten Tasmanian Christian schools have joined together to create a training program to ensure there is a supply of quality teachers for their schools.
   Trainee teachers will enter into a four-year undergraduate or two-year postgraduate degree program and will be working in the schools with students for their entire tertiary education which means HECs debt will be halved as they will be paid part time as teaching assistants. Read more

D2L, has launched its D2L Brightspace Creator+ Package, which makes creating engaging digital course content easier by using workflows integrated into Brightspace.
  Teachers in Australia work longer than the standard 40 hour week, with the respondents working about 44 hours a week on average.
   With Creator+, D2L promises the need to buy and train on expensive, interactive content authoring software is reduced. Read more
