Whether you are selling shoes, teaching, or driving across the country in a food laden semi-trailer, work is tiring. Managing the home, children, shopping, cooking, and cleaning is also tiring. Attending school instils the need, and value of working. In this sense learning might seem like work to our children.

Is High Schooler Angst Overstated?

Academics from the Universities of Cambridge and Manchester analysed the well-being and self-esteem of more than 11,000 young people from across the UK, using data collected when they were 11, and again when they were 14. The adolescents' overall 'subjective well-being' - their satisfaction with different aspects of life (such as friends, school and family) - dropped significantly during the intervening years.

Teaching Winners - Prime Minister's 2022 Prizes for Science

The two teacher winners of this year's Prime Ministers’ Prizes For Science come from very different backgrounds but share similar goals.
   Marble Bar Primary School's STEM Coordinator, Mr George Pantazis won the 2022 Prime Minister's Prize for Excellence in Science Teaching in Primary Schools and ViewBank College's Head of Technology and STEAM Project Leader, Ms Veena Nair took the 2022 Prime Minister's Prize for Secondary Schools.
