Dr Michael Ayodeji Ifarajimi has come a long way, a childhood marked by undiagnosed dyslexia and learning struggles in Nigeria now overcome, Dr Ayodeji is applying the mentoring approach to dyslexia that helped him to students in Humpty Doo.
    The recent Charles Darwin University (CDU) PhD graduate is now dedicated to building inclusive, mentoring-rich classrooms in the Northern Territory (NT).

Younger Teachers 'Unsure' of Future in Profession

Younger teachers are at most risk of leaving profession, citing workload and wellbeing as leading factors towards leaving the sector.
    The profession leans on its young, a lower proportion of early career teachers (48%) were employed in an ongoing capacity, with higher proportions on short fixed-term (24%) or casual (19%) contracts. Teachers with 'alternative registration to teach' are few in number but play an important role in hard-to-staff schools. Read more

Qld’s Anti Bullying Initiative Welcomed by Student Well-Being Expert

The Queensland government’s antibullying initiative is multi-contextual and multi-modal including the decision to set up Rapid Support Squads to tackle bullying in the state’s schools.
   The squads will target bullying hotspots in the state’s schools and respond to those that have a critical incident and highlight ‘best practice’  if the initiative provides on-going support for the school community. Read more

Using 3D imaging technology, Flinders University and partners have created and launched the ‘Ozboneviz’ virtual database which goes inside the anatomy of dozens of Australia’s most famous animals for the public, schools, researchers, artists, nature-lovers and others to access.
   The resulting 3D files are deposited on the MorphoSource platform, which has the same rigorous cataloguing as any physical museum. Read more

AI Powered Crims Target Schools

Cyber crims are rapidly adopting artificial intelligence (AI) to scale stealthy, fast-moving attacks, leaving security teams struggling to detect and respond in time. The threat landscape is both evolving in complexity and shifting toward gaps in visibility, governance, and infrastructure.
   Nearly 51 per cent of organisations in Australia said that they have encountered AI-powered cyber threats.
