With fragmented support and inconsistent induction processes, casual and early career teachers leave the profession.
   So, to address teacher shortages, and support the essential work casual and early career teachers do, often without much job security, Australia must develop stronger government policies focused on their retention and career development. The reality is that only 45% of casual relief teachers receive a formal induction. Read more

Prisoners Learn Alongside Students

RMIT's Inside-Out program where incarcerated people study a subject on crime and justice together with students from RMIT University passed its 10-year milestone with 1,000 students through the program.
   It has now been announced as a finalist in Universities Australia's Shaping Australia Awards, in the Future Builders category. The unique program brings students together for two hours a week over 12 weeks.

Deletion of Video Roulette App

Apple and Google have removed roulette-style video chat service OmeTV from their Australian app stores after being alerted that the app was being used by predatory adults to groom and sexually exploit Australian children.
   OmeTV paired adults and children together randomly for live video chat and led to grooming and sexual exploitation of Australian children, as well as others globally. Read more
