From birth on, children wonder about the world around them, have the resilience to pursue learning and they master skill after skill on their new life journey. Commonwealth Teaching Scholarships Open

Applications are open for the 2026 round of the Commonwealth Teaching Scholarships Program, delivering up to $40,000 for teaching students.
   The scholarship takes some of the pressure off, freeing students from the need to seek paid work to support themselves during their studies.
   Meg was inspired to study teaching in Year 10 when she participated in a program to work with new Year 7s. Read more

Australia and Norway are about to embark on a massive experiment by setting age limits for socials.
   It might well prove whether social media is as corrosive for young people as believed or whether we can actually stop them from accessing it.
   Users may still access social media feeds while logged out or turn to VPNs to get around the bans expeditiously.

Program Minting Indigenous Engineers

The Indigenous Australian Engineering School (IAES) has run for almost three decades in NSW through UNSW, the University of Sydney, Newcastle University and at Curtin University in WA, inspiring dozens of Indigenous kids often from rural communities to pursue engineering as a career.
    This is year marks the first time it will be held in South Australia, at Flinders University, and students will interact with Radelaide's booming manufacturing base. Read more

Each year, as the school year winds down, educators receive tokens of appreciation such as mugs, candles and chocolates from grateful families. While the sentiment behind these gestures is deeply valued, one Melbourne teacher saw an opportunity to turn that generosity into something even more impactful.
